Pig disease data now available in the latest of the GB livestock disease surveillance dashboards
This year we successfully launched the sheep and cattle disease surveillance dashboards and a pig disease surveillance dashboard is now available.
These three dashboards are collectively known as the livestock disease surveillance dashboards.
The pig dashboard displays diseases diagnosed in pigs across Great Britain and contains the same useful features as the sheep and cattle dashboards with the addition of the main clinical sign.
It has been developed to share the surveillance information from 2012 onwards taken from submissions to the GB veterinary diagnostic network which is made up of:
- APHA’s Veterinary Investigation Centres (VICs) across England and Wales.
- The network of universities and other surveillance partners working with APHA.
- Scotland’s Rural College Disease Surveillance Centres in Scotland operated by SAC Consulting Veterinary Services.
The interactive map allows selection of diseases by county, country or across GB and filters can be used to show diagnoses by time period and age group.
Farmers and vets can access information on the most common diagnoses in an area, or learn where specific diseases have been diagnosed. Once a view has been selected, it can be downloaded as an image to use in a document or presentation.
See the livestock disease surveillance dashboard webpage for further information.
