Release of Official Veterinarian instructions for the export of animal and animal products

AHVLA has published a set of instructions for Official Veterinarians (OV) on the export of animals and animal products.

Earlier in the year AHVLA advised that it had been working with a group of experts within the agency to produce these instructions. In January 2012 material to demonstrate the proposed format, layout, navigation and content of the export instructions was released to a number of OV volunteers: the British Veterinary Association (BVA), the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and specialist divisions to review. Following the review period, meetings were held to discuss the comments received and the instructions were finalised.

The final instructions were published on 31 July 2012. The instructions can be accessed through the OV section of the AHVLA website.

An online tutorial which shows how to navigate the OV instructions is also available.

Updates to the instructions will be communicated via the OV Instructions homepage. If you have any views on the content and navigation of the instructions please use the feedback facility which will shortly be incorporated into the pages.

AHVLA is currently working to develop instructions for TB in Camelids and Anthrax. Once finalised versions are ready they will be released on the AHVLA website.
