Using the Sam IT system to manage TB testing

AHVLA is currently testing new functionality in its Sam IT system that will enable OVs to submit TB test results electronically, replacing the current VeBus system and paper-based processes.
For those OV practices who have signed up to use the system the intention is to stagger the roll-out over a period of a few weeks. This was anticipated to take place between late September and mid-October.

After careful consideration it has been decided that the roll-out of Sam to OVs will be postponed in order to ensure that a number of issues identified during live testing can be fully resolved before practices can begin to use the system to undertake TB work on behalf of the agency. It is important that AHVLA resolves these remaining issues and delivers a high quality system that fulfils user expectations.

As soon as AHVLA has thoroughly tested the new system, OV practices who have signed up to use Sam will be notified of revised roll-out dates. It is anticipated that this will be in the next few weeks.

In the meantime, if there are any changes to scheduled test information AHVLA will issue OV practices with a BT4 form. Practices that use VeBus can continue to use this system as normal.
