Sample Type

0.1 mL containing microorganism(s) freeze dried in glass vials.

Samples in the panel may or may not contain Salmonella. They may contain a pathogen or non-pathogen either pure or mixed with common contaminants. The isolates are derived from either reference or field strains.

Participants will be given clinical information about the sample, as would happen with most usual sample submissions to a laboratory. Using normal routine procedures the participants will make their choice of tests to try to determine the presence or absence of Salmonella.
